Believe in the Impossible!

When my husband and I were looking for a home, we searched for about two years. We even put money down on a home, but in the end, it didn’t seem right for us. Even though we lost money on that deal, I felt good that we weren’t going to be stuck with a home that needed a lot of work that we weren’t in a position to manage. So, we continued looking at previously owned homes, and one day I stumbled upon a neighborhood across the street from one of the listed homes I had gone to see.

It was a new and very upscale-looking neighborhood. In my mind, I thought, “There’s no way we could possibly live in this neighborhood, but it wouldn’t hurt to take a peek.” So, I proceeded to daydream as I drove through the community. It was a relatively small community, and although the homes that were there were very beautiful, it looked like the neighborhood was a bit unfinished. We came to understand that it had been abandoned by the initial builder during the housing market fiasco.

Anyway, I didn’t think any more about it for months until we received a call from our real estate agent saying that a builder was building some new houses in that very same neighborhood and there might be some houses available at our price point. Fast forward to three years later, and we are now living in that neighborhood that I thought we wouldn’t be able to afford. I didn’t even try to imagine that we could live in our neighborhood, so I didn’t have much faith, but even in my unbelief, God did something amazing for us! He made the impossible, possible. Just imagine if I’d had more faith? That taught me a serious lesson: Believe that God can do the impossible regardless of the way it looks.

Why? Because God is the God of Possible! He can make anything happen if it’s according to His Will. We just have to do our part and believe. Jesus speaks to His disciples in Matthew 17:20 about why they were not able to cast a demon out of a boy, He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.” (ESV)

What are you trusting God for today that you think is impossible? Use your mustard seed of faith or whatever sized seed you have to ask big! Recall other situations where God has made a way out of an “impossible” situation either for you or someone else and let’s continue to remember those situations that seemed to have absolutely no hope that were miraculously resolved with God’s favor. Today, let’s believe that our “impossible” will be made possible.

Believe and P.U.S.H!
